Saturday, September 2.....noon

Our lil' guy is resting comfortably and had another good night. They continue to increase his feeds through his ng tube, giving him lots of calories and nutrition. What goes in must come out, however, and he's doing a good job of making his nurses work a little overtime :-) He got a bath this morning and I was actually able to help out with his bath yesterday. They're thinking of extubating on Monday. All of his "numbers" are looking better each day, showing us that his lungs are doing well......his ventalator is set so that he's doing most of the breathing on his own with minimal help. He was also taken off of more meds today, which is great. It was definitely scary to see all of the machines he was wired up to last week after his's great to see him hooked up to just 3 now (one being his feeds). It's been wonderful having Rich back for the weekend.

Thank you for continuing to lift our spirits with your wonderful comments, e-mails, and cards we've received. It's amazing to know how many people care about you - people we haven't even met are so touched by our lil' fighter. He continues to amaze us everyday :-) Please continue to keep us in your prayers as Braden gains his strength for round 3 of extubation.

Daddy, Mummy & bebe Petska,

Just got back to civilization to be able to hear the fantastic news. It is wonderful to see, with each passing day, that all your strengths shine through.

They say the greatest gift is to touch a heart, and you all sure have touched many with your love and courage.

Braden, you are adorable. But with your mummy and daddy, how could you be anything but. I think I see a hint of Grandma Patsy in you. Keep strong little one. You are being watched over by many, with lots of love and prayers.

Steph & Rich, I am so glad to hear you are all together again. Those shoulders are important.

My love and prayers to you all and your families,

It sounds like Braden is doing really well...what good news! He's so cute in that pic, his good looks are showing thru all those tubes and wires... and those rosy cheeks!! I'm still thinking of you all every day and it's just great to be able to see Braden's progress on here, it makes me smile. I hope you two are doing more smiling these days too.
