New Pictures

Older Pic with the nose canula still in. It is hard to tell from this angle but that is a mohawk on his head. It stands up like that all the time.

New Pic from the weekend. Fresh off his bath.
You can see his scar. The bottom of the picture you can see the part of the scar that is healing where they had to reopen it to let some extra fluid out. It is healing nicely. The scar seriously looks like a fingernail scratch. It will get bigger and wider with the following two surgeries.

Thanks keeping us in your thoughts,

Rich

The pictures are awsome. We can't believe how big he is getting!!!! What fat cheeks. We can tell by the pics that he must be a BIG Bears fan...he must be a Tony Stewart fan too!!!!
Thanks for keeping us updated. You know, you'll have to keep doing this daily when you're home, too. (which will be soon) We're all on a "need to know" basis.

Love,

These pictures are adorable! What a badge of courage he wears...I am sure it will be a real "girl getter" some day when he can talk about "his broken heart" and show off his scar.....I hate to tell you this but get used to the puking thing.....its not confirmed by any CHW staff but almost every HLHS mom will tell you these kids are pukers....Our Zach will start to cough and we all run for a towel because we know "its going to blow"...I "quess" it gets better someday... but for now I buy sheets and PJs in the "vaule packs"! As far as the scar getting bigger...I really think Dr. Tweddle dose a dang good job in going right back over the same site as before, chest tubes too...I really didn't notice any difference in size after his other surgeries....time has done a great job in fading Zachs and I think the Vit K save may have helped too. Well since your still there for a few more days....I would love to pop up and and say hello to you and your little trooper here. Zachs appointment is at noon in the heart center but we would visit you before then, if thats okay say 11:30 ish. I need to rush home afterward to grab my 6 year old from school.

Braden, You are one beautiful little boy! We can't believe how you have changed in these weeks, you are so very alert and those cheeks are ripe for kissing! You have big beautiful eyes, better for driving the girls crazy in a few years.
Mom & Dad, thanks for keeping us updated on Braden's successes, and even the steps sideways, it is very true that we all NEED to know how things are going with all of you. It really seems impossible that Braden is a month old already, we are sure you will be heading home soon. You are all in our thoughts and prayers daily.
Love, Uncle Dale & Aunt Cheryl
P.S. Uncle Dale is also a Lions fan--but he can't help himself,lol.
