Sunday Morning Update

Braden continues to pick his eating back up. He took 80 by bottle this morning and 5 through his feeding tube. Afterwards they pulled the tube out and it is time for him to eat again right now.

The doctors are really leaning towards he had a stomach virus that got everything upset and irritated. That is why he wasn't interested in eating and may explain the different colored poop.

The plan for today is to start to fortify the milk with formula and go back up to 24 calories per serving. Tomorrow then we will up it to 27 calorie and see how he does. Hopefully he tolerates it without his stomach getting irritated again and he can come home soon (Tues/Weds).

Thanks for checking in.

Rich

Hello Petska Family:We are hanging out waiting for Dick to call so we can meet him for the long ride home. Thank you again for letting me share in Bradens coming home last weekend and for your hospitality. Sorry to hear the little guy had a set back but is now recovering and may be coming home soon. I love you all and know that you will be strong through all this. You are very very special!!! Abby sure entertained me while here. She is so funny. Yesterday we took her to the mall for the first time and went to Build A Bear. She built a cat! She loves her cats. Has quite a collection. Well I will close. I didn't want you to think I wasn't thinking of you. Sara reads the Blog everyday. Love you lots. Please give my little guy a kiss. Auntie Shelly

Rich, Seph, Braden & families,

As with any newborn and the first you are on pins and needles wondering if you are doing the best things, etc., then add the serious health problem Braden has and I'm sure it intensifies those feelings. You must be getting comfort from the Dr.s, knowing you are doing what needs to be done.

Also, it must be comforting to know and feeling all the love and prayers that surrounds you.

Take comfort in knowing you are very gentle, loving and giving people. Your strength in faith will see you through these difficult times.

My love, thoughts and prayers,
Pat
