Today we celebrate life, love, and hope - today, just like everyday, we celebrate Owen - today he is one! I know his big brother is sending his love! Happy Birthday Owen!

This blog was designed to share our son's journey - living with a congenital heart defect. Braden was born on August 17, 2006, and was diagnosed with HLHS two days later. After 2 open heart surgeries within three months of age, Braden thrived and marveled the doctors throughout his little life. On the late evening of March 16, 2009, Braden's heart went into a fatal arrhythmia. He earned his angel wings on March 17th. This blog now marks the journey of survival - living with the devastating loss of our hero, our son, our precious B.

I know this event, like any, must have moments of bittersweet ...thinking how B would have adored his brother.....

What a cutie! Happy 1st Birthday! I saw pictures of his 'birthday helmet' from Erika...you did a cute job!! It was nice to see Owen at the Parents Ed. Day, as well as the two of you!! I told your husband that if you guys got your heart of gold shirts in purple to let me know...but afterwards, I figured he had no clue as to who I was! So, it was me! =)
