Sunday Morning

Hello,
Well, we're still in the PICU today and will stay another day/night. No alarming changes....they just want to keep an eye on his heart rate. They took him off of the pacer this morning, and Dr. Ghanayem has ordered an echo for tomorrow. They're still not sure if it's the med that they're weening him off of (clonidine) that's causing his "lower than norm" heart rate. They will do an echo tomorrow to rule out anything "abnormal" with the heart. He also has his pleural chest tubes still in. For those of you who know and understand, the fatty substance has been draining a bit from his chest tubes. It's not enough to put him on a no fat diet, but enough to keep the tubes in to drain. Everything else is going really well with Braden. We're hoping that if things continue to go well, we'll only be on the 4th floor for a very short time. Has anyone ever been disharged from the PICU????? Braden might miss seeing his "girlfriends" if we miss out on going to the 4th floor. He is quite the charmer......some of his 4th floor nurses came down to the PICU on Friday to say hello :-)

We know that God's healing hands are wrapped around Braden. Thank you for keeping us in your prayers.
Love,
Steph

Well I haven't heard of anyone going straight home from PICU but I HAVE known some to have only spent a day on the fourth floor after being in PICU "a while"..... So maybe Braden wants to be one of those kids!! They will figure his heart rate thing out.... Sounds like our favroite Dr. Nancy is right on top of everything, like we know she would be. Your not missing anything out "here" anyway...lots of COLD..its not even much fun playing in the snow its sooo cold.....

Its so good to read about his lines and stuff comming out....how are his Sats, still weaning the O2??? I hope it works out that you can leave that stuff at the hospital....

Keep the Faith....God is near!!

Love and Blessings,
Lisa

Also, if forensic sciences interest you, you could go in for forensic nursing. In our company our nursing papers are usually written from scratch so as to avoid plagiarism and to ensure originality. With this, there will certainly be low quality of care to patients and nursing care will be compromised. LPNs earn less than registered nurses and work under the direction of registered nurses. The key is to heal from these wounds and to strive to become recovering co-dependents.
