Things are still good.... 8/25 5pm

The doctors were in to check on him and are happy with the lack of swelling that he has in his chest and abdomen.

Grandpa Greg and Auntie Marci made it down here this afternoon from the U.P. It was good to see them and for them to be here for us and Braden.

The paralyzing drug is starting to wear off and he is starting to wiggle around a bit, and move his eyes when you talk to him. They want him to be still pretty sedated through tonite and most of tomorrow.

There is also talk of taking out his breathing tube maybe as early as Sunday, which is ahead of schedule again.

When the tube comes out, the hard work begins. Braden will have to be able to eat before we can take him home. The sooner he gets his eating down the sooner he comes home, hence the 3-5 weeks time frame. He will have therapists working with him to teach him what eating and swallowing is again. Being that he hasn't eaten ever, they say that he has "forgotten" those natural instincts. So when we get through the weekend maybe they can get started on the eating.

Those of you that know Steph and I well enough know that he better take after his mother in the eating department, if he eats like me he might be here until the cows come home...

Anyways he is very stable right now and Steph and I are discussing coming home tonight to sleep in our own bed. Which would be nice, no offense to Extended Stay America Hotel, but there is no place like home, that's for sure.
Plus my back went out on me this morning, so I have to pay Dr. Mike a visit to get fixed up.

Thanks for all the support and prayers it has been a huge help through all of this.

Rich

Steph, Rich & Braden- We have been praying for all of you and you are in our thoughts and have been over the last week. We will continue to pray for strength for all of you, that Braden continues to improve and that you as new parents continue to find the strength to get through this exhausting and frightening time. We can't wait until you can hold your little boy and take him home to the loving home you've created for him. Please contact us at any time if you need ANYTHING at all, as we are only 15 minutes from Children's Hospital. We'd love to see you but know your schedule and life is very hectic right now but want to lend our love, support and prayers and anything else you need. Steph, our number is in the phone book and my email address is amyvosters@hotmail.com PLEASE, if there is anything I can do, let me know. Hey guys-

What a strong little boy! Steph,I think it is because of the water aerobics and all the fiber in that bagel bread you love! :) And Rich, yes, we can only hope he eats likes his mommy! (" Mommy " - I like that) On a serious note, we are so happy to hear the postive news. We cannot wait to meet this brave little boy and hug his even braver parents.

Hugs,
Ray,Melissa,Justin and Jonah

We along with all the others are praying for your little fighter. Thankfully he is a fighter! Of course, we are also praying for the rest of the family and just wanted to let you know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. Thanks for the up-dates, it is wonderful to hear that Braden is doing so well. It is amazing what God can do when we all have faith and believe in Him.
