No words....

Dear faithful blog followers and prayers warriors,
There are no words to describe the heartache and pain we are feeling. Our dear, sweet, precious Braden gained his angel wings last night. We are still searching for answers as to why and how this all happened. As his heart is now whole, ours is completely broken. Please pray for our strength as we grieve for our little boy. We will post arrangements at a later time.

I am really at a loss for words, a complete loss. I hopped on here this morning to see what Braden was up to. The news has caught me by surprise. My heart aches for you. I have no idea what you are going through, but the pain must be unimaginable. Please know that I am thinking and praying for you all during this very difficult time. Braden lived a very happy life with 2 very wonderful parents, there is no doubt. May God continue to give you the strength you need.

Hi Petska family-
What a shock this was to read. I have followed Braden for sometime now and finally got to meet the three of you at last years Herma Heart Center day at the zoo when you meet up with Sam and his parents. My heart goes out to you. I have no great words, just want you to know that I am so sorry and mostly, praying for you. Seems impossible, but I pray God wraps his arms around you guys and gives you the strength, comfort, and peace that only He can give.

From the day he was born and I met your family I knew Braden was special and that I was ment to be in your life. Braden taught me to be ready for anything while out on transport and to trust my gut, which has helped me care for other babies since. It was a pleasure to have cared for him and I can not tell you how much I loved the updates from you guys and grandma. I always felt special that you remembered me on Nurse's Day with a card, which always included a picture of your sweet boy. May your heart be full of wonderful memories of your boy and I will continue to pray for all of you.

Little Angels

When God calls little children
to dwell with him above
We mortals sometimes question
the wisdom of His love.

For no heartache compares with
the death of one small child
Who does so much to make our world
seem wonderful and mild.

Perhaps God tires of calling
the aged to His fold
So picks a rosebud
before it can grow old.

God knows how much we need them
and so he takes a few
To make the land of heaven
more beautiful to view.

Believing this is difficult
still somehow we must try
The saddest word mankind knows
will always be "GOODBYE".

So when a little child departs
we who are left behind
Must realize God loves children
Angels are hard to find.

There are no words that can console your broken hearts. There is nothing that can fill the void that hurts so much.

Hold onto each other ever so tight and take one step at a time, hand in hand. Take comfort in your memories, each other, your family, friends and neighbors, to just get through each second of each minute of each day, and breathe.

Hold onto your faith, beacuse right now it is a solid ground that you can reach for to help you walk, and know that the Lord is hearing all the prayers that are being sent for Braden and you.

That warm feeling at any particular moment is a warm hug from your little Braden angel and the Lord himself, helping you get through this.

But for right now, take comfort in each other, your family, friends, and your faith to get through each second of each minute of each day.

We love you, our hearts ache for you and our prayers are with you... Love Alice, Nichole, Art and Cosmo

We haven't seen eachother in a very long time, but I want you to know how much I always thought of you. You, Erika and Amy were always the three I looked up to. Now this happens and I can't imagine the heartache. I go to church, I believe in God and all of his mysterious ways, but this has to be the most mysterious. Try to keep your faith and know that your son is the lucky one, he gets to sing and play and never be sick again. Those of us who are left behind are the ones who need to do whatever they can to get by. Try to remember he is in a fabulous place looking down on you- he was a gift from God who was taken too soon. You are such a great girl who deserves complete happiness. I know you'll never get over this, just please have some faith thru it. (easier said than done!)

This is not at all how
We thought it was supposed to be
We had so many plans for you
We had so many dreams
And now you've gone away
And left us with the memories of your smile
And nothing we can say
And nothing we can do
Can take away the pain
The pain of losing you, but ...

We can cry with hope
We can say goodbye with hope
'Cause we know our goodbye is not the end, oh no
And we can grieve with hope
'Cause we believe with hope
(There's a place by God's grace)
There's a place where we'll see your face again
We'll see your face again

And never have I known
Anything so hard to understand
And never have I questioned more
The wisdom of God's plan
But through the cloud of tears
I see the Father's smile and say well done
And I imagine you
Where you wanted most to be
Seeing all your dreams come true
'Cause now you're home
And now you're free, and ...

We have this hope as an anchor
'Cause we believe that everything
God promised us is true, so ...

So we can cry with hope
And say goodbye with hope

We wait with hope
And we ache with hope
We hold on with hope
We let go with hope

Words can't describe my thoughts right now. Months ago, I ready every blog and couldn't believe the strength of you and your family, as Braden fought for his life as a baby. You will find strength to get through this. God has blessed you with that.

My thoughts, prayers and heart go out to you and your family. God bless you.

Steph & Rich,

My family has been praying for you since we heard the news - our hearts ache for your families. Braden was the little boy who gave me hope when we got the HLHS diagnosis for Logan. Please know that he touched so many lives and that he was such an inspiration. We loove you and are here if you need anything!

Stephanie and Rich: I am so sorry and sad for the loss of your precious baby. I just saw your mom and asked how he was doing and the smile that lit your mom's face is something I will never forget when she spoke of him. I'm sorry I missed your dad's party so that I could see him. May God be with you through these difficult days.

Yesterday's news caught me by surprise, as I made a mental note when I saw Braden at your dad's party how well he looked. You were fortunate to have had such a special child be a part of your life, even though it was not nearly long enough. Braden was also lucky to have had such a warm, loving family to live with here on Earth. Braden is now with his extended family and you can take comfort in the arms and prayers of your family and friends.

Dear Petska family,

I heard of your loss through Maddison Watson's page and I wanted to say how truly sorry I am at the loss of your Braden. The death of a child is so unfair, and it sounds as though it was sudden and unexpected, which makes it even harder to understand. My angel Aiden also had HLHS and passed away very suddenly in July of 2007. Please know that you will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Sometimes we don't understand what happends in life but know that Braden has and will continue to have an incredible impact during his short life. It is amazing looking at the blog and charity websites to see what your family has done and how much good has come because of it. We'll pray for God's continued strength during this time.

Dear Steph and Rich,
We are so very saddened by your loss. From the very first time we met you, we commented on how fortunate Braden was to have such wonderful parents. As time went on, we looked forward to seeing you and Braden in clinic. In January he charmed us all with his amazing vocabulary and his Johnny Cash songs.
Everyone at the Herma Heart Center is so saddened by your loss. We have been blessed to know you, Steph and Rich, and to have been able to care for your beautiful son. Your Heart of Gold charity has touched so many families lives, just as you have touched ours. Please know that we are always here for you and that you will be in our hearts and prayers.

Stephanie and Rich,

I wasn't going to write, because I don't know you. However, I saw your beautiful son's obituary in the Kenosha News yesterday and I just can't stop thinking of him and the pain you must be experiencing.

I hope you know that even people who don't know you and did not even know of you until this week have been touched by Braden's story and are praying for your strength during this time of sorrow.

God bless you and your family and God keep your beautiful boy.

Warmly,
Dana Boyle
